I get sick and tired of the pitches I get every day from gurus. If this is what being a guru is, then I quit today. There are a lot of things that are going on behind the scenes that most people are never aware of. This is why you should NEVER copy anything the gurus are doing.
Unlike those other gurus out there, I believe in giving great content before asking you to buy anything.
Almost everybody else in this marketplace does the exact opposite.
Most gurus are very short-sited. They are only looking for short-term profits.
I’m going to prove this to you right now.
Open your inbox right now, and check how many emails you have.
You can always tell who they are from just by the hyped-up subject lines offering you something amazing in exchange for money.
It seems most gurus are doing nothing except trying to sell all the time.
Kind of like the old Wendy’s commercials: “Where’s the beef?” except now it’s “Where’s the content?”
I can only personally think of 3, maybe 4, marketers who have ever sent me pure content that wasn’t attached to some lame product launch.
Maybe you can think of more, but I can’t.
What makes it worse is new marketers who copy the gurus believe that is what you are suppose to do. Just pound the ever-loving daylights out of your list every day, sometimes more.
Most of the gurus can do this because they have hundreds, if not thousands, of new people joining their list everyday thanks to affiliates.
They don’t care if you stop opening their emails after two weeks. There will be somebody new to take your place tomorrow.
I have seen a number of mega gurus stumble and fall once their affiliates have moved on to promoting something new. They are left without a fresh supply of leads and their list dries up in weeks. Then they start mailing even more to make up for the loss in income which can kill the list even faster.
New marketers don’t have this kind of luxury, so when they start mailing offers everyday their list goes dead fast.
They haven’t given any real value to their list.
Think about it. We watch TV and listen to the radio for the content, not the commercials. So why would you just send your email list pitches all the time?
The real answer is giving real content and building a long-term relationship with your list.
Once you build a relationship with your list, they will be more forgiving when you mess up.
They will also believe you when you recommend something. They will buy more of your products and services.
Your email list is the most valuable part of your business, so start treating it that way. Remember, the people on your list are real people too, and not just some email or click.
They have the same hopes and dreams that you do. Treat them with respect.
