I get sick and tired of the pitches I get every day from gurus. If this is what being a guru is, then I quit today. There are a lot of things that are going on behind the scenes that most people are never aware of. This is why you should NEVER copy anything the gurus are doing.
Unlike those other gurus out there, I believe in giving great content before asking you to buy anything.
Almost everybody else in this marketplace does the exact opposite.
Most gurus are very short-sited. They are only looking for short-term profits.
I’m going to prove this to you right now.
Open your inbox right now, and check how many emails you have.
You can always tell who they are from just by the hyped-up subject lines offering you something amazing in exchange for money.
It seems most gurus are doing nothing except trying to sell all the time.
Kind of like the old Wendy’s commercials: “Where’s the beef?” except now it’s “Where’s the content?”
I can only personally think of 3, maybe 4, marketers who have ever sent me pure content that wasn’t attached to some lame product launch.
Maybe you can think of more, but I can’t.
What makes it worse is new marketers who copy the gurus believe that is what you are suppose to do. Just pound the ever-loving daylights out of your list every day, sometimes more.
Most of the gurus can do this because they have hundreds, if not thousands, of new people joining their list everyday thanks to affiliates.
They don’t care if you stop opening their emails after two weeks. There will be somebody new to take your place tomorrow.
I have seen a number of mega gurus stumble and fall once their affiliates have moved on to promoting something new. They are left without a fresh supply of leads and their list dries up in weeks. Then they start mailing even more to make up for the loss in income which can kill the list even faster.
New marketers don’t have this kind of luxury, so when they start mailing offers everyday their list goes dead fast.
They haven’t given any real value to their list.
Think about it. We watch TV and listen to the radio for the content, not the commercials. So why would you just send your email list pitches all the time?
The real answer is giving real content and building a long-term relationship with your list.
Once you build a relationship with your list, they will be more forgiving when you mess up.
They will also believe you when you recommend something. They will buy more of your products and services.
Your email list is the most valuable part of your business, so start treating it that way. Remember, the people on your list are real people too, and not just some email or click.
They have the same hopes and dreams that you do. Treat them with respect.
Talk soon,
Charles Kirkland

I gotta admit I’m a part of this marketing vicious cycle too and I’m going to break it. Charles, I recently completed writing a new 57-page report and thought of inviting you to write in a testimonial.
Is it OK that I e-mail you at your gmail address?
Nice and refreshing e-mail.
Appreciate your post, Charles. If more gurus and list owners would make “What can I give?” primary, rather than always “What can I get?”…then Internet Marketing would be a much happier place.
I understand that the ultimate idea of a list is to generate profit, but I grow weary of these endless big-ticket product launches, overwrought subject lines, and often useless offerings.
Thanks for being one of the few “gurus” I’ve bookmarked to check regularly.
Hi Charles
Great post and so true, there is to much of the mind hand in your pocket thinking going on out there
You have always delivered real value to your subscribers, long may it continue
I’ve been lucky over the last few days to promote something which I feel was of real value, the guy has given away more real value than a couple of the recent two thousand dollar launches for a product selling for under 100 dollars, but their rare
Keep up the good work Charles
Hello Charles,
That was a very honest and insightful email. This “guru” thing is getting very old, very quickly for a lot of us who are just trying to find an honest approach to making some money online. It always sounds so promising on the sales page but when you pay your money and go inside it’s a whole different thing. That’s why I use IM Report Card.com as much as possible. It, for the most part, gives you the real nitty gritty on a lot of these cleverly marketed but useless programs that permeate the web. It can be really disheartening and a huge waste of time. So, keep on telling it like it is, Charles and I’ll keep listening.
PM
P.S. By the way, a second post script would be “P.P.S. as in post post script rather than post script script.
P.P.S. I liked what Ken McFarland had to say. Good stuff Ken!!
I agree with you Charles.
Too many people out there out just follow what ever there guru / upline tells them and they don’t even try to think for themselves.
I just wish that when these so-called experts sell me something that they would at least make sure I know how to use what they are selling and if I don’t know how to use it , they will me without trying to sell me some kind of e-course on how to make it work.
Honest, but don’t you do the same thing that you dislike about other gurus?
Charles,
Every time I opt out of a list, I send the exact reason you have discussed in the article.
It is stunningly obvious what the “big marketers” are doing, and it is insulting to anyone who actually thinks, to receive daily, sometimes more, those emails with the ridiculous subject lines for the next greatest thing, launch, or program.
And almost everyone of the branded names is doing it in that same fashion. Everybody has the same cookie cutter and they use it unceasingly to ring that Clickbank ledger, regardless of the impact long-range on the recipients.
Don’t they realize it is a major turn-off to receive copied launches, all with the same type of splash page, same copy style, the same bonus-bit, the up-sell behind door #1, another one behind door #2, etc., etc., etc., and on and on it goes.
Time to get smart, Publishers, and turn off the blast button. We’re tired of it and we’re taking our names off your lists… and we’re no longer taking our money out of our wallets for your products.
You’re not the first to firmly take this approach, Charles, and hopefully not the last, and I thank you for the integrity and guts to do so.
Hi Prent
You are 100% right about gurus sending the exact same email. My thought is if you can’t even take the time to right your own email did you even look at what you are promoting?
Thanks
Charles
Hi Gordon
You are right. I do JV’s and promos and I will do them again. What I’m talking about is the never ending emails that are nothing more then promos. I that a lot of time on this blog and I give away a ton of videos and free info.
Thanks
Charles
P.S. But I want to cut back to the point where I only do 1 or 2 promo’s a month.
I get tired of subscribing to different networkers from my email and get the same 4 or 5 copied aweber list of autoresponded emails from them all…..totally stupid. I mean at least copy and paste a little and add your own words to it for God sake!
I mean, come on…and we are all apart of the same mlsp system or whatever else training system you got so we all are sending out the same auto emails. People are not stupid. They see the messages are the same.
I propose that we use those auto emails as a training tool on how to send lead capture emails instead of just giving everyone the same auto list to send out.
In addition to this, I hate the auto tweets. I add someone and I get all of these auto replies in my inbox offering me something to buy…..ok, I tweet because I am a real person who works and loves to tweet. I don’t tweet on auto just to get sales. I never meet these people before or talked to them and yet they want me to buy something. Totally stupid as well and takes away from the social in “social networking”.
Love the blog and all the other stuff I’ve read or saw from you. You got my support and a back link from my blog!
Hi Edward,
I know what you are talking about. Its just seems that most gurus are only after your money and they don’t care if it helps anybody or not.
Charles
Hi LaTonya” The Diva”
You blog ROCKS!
You are right. Twitter is for one on one.
Most people really don’t get social media.
Thanks
Charles Kirkland
Hi Nelson Tan
I take a look at it this weekend. But from what I have read it looks good.
Charles
PS. Email me on monday!
Ron, Ken, Tony and Peter
I really hope you got something out of this email. I’m allways looking for ways to give back.
Thanks
Charles
Hi Charles,
couldn’t agree with you more.
I particularily hate the “Re: Sale Confirmation” In the email subject line. One marketer sent me several emails like this and after getting excited that l had made a sale on the first attempt, l got more and more fed up after that.
Eventhough l occasionally got a video, etc from this organization, most of the time l got a misleading email and sales pitch, so l “unsubscribed.”
I have 3 years experience online and have just started building my list, (see website link) but 70% of the time l give great content away as an ebook, video or software.
When l do give a sales pitch, l give the good and bad points and only recommend products l have personally used!
Keep up the excellent content!
All the best.

Hi Charles,
I liked what you said about the Guru’s and I have to say that I’ve tried so many of the money making schemes now and none of them have worked for me as they say when selling the products. Is there a way to make money online that actually works ?
I went Bankrupt trying PPC, MLM, building mini sites that got no where, etc
Help ??
Aldo
yes charles,i have to agree, theres so much bs coming into my inbox latly, and its all crap.what you say is absoutly true.pwrsonally i have been luled in to some of these e-mails early on and lost more money than i care to admit,so believe when i say that alot of e-mails should be deleated straight away, most of them are only wasting your time and your money.
Francis..
Hi C:
I feel the same way. Thanks for the message.
You are not quitting! I don’t believe you. Once Internet Marketing is in your blood, you are in it for life.
Now that I get hundreds of emails daily, I can see a pattern which guys send nothing but affiliate links, which guys who send content with sales pitches and those who give mostly valuable content with random hard sales.
I am tired of those guys who send me messages pitching a new second rate product every other day – for sure, they have not even reviewed the course themselves.
Recently I got ten different emails pitching “Mobile Monopoly”, twenty “guru”s pitching Mark Ling’s stuff, a dozen variations for “Social Media Marketing”, tons for “Product Launch Formula” , Perpetual Traffic, & so on…
The emails all look the same and sound the same and whatever credibility these “gurus” had when I first discovered them is wrecked by month three or four. (I am a patient man but I am having information overload meltdown)
PS – I think you have gone the other way and are giving too much value for too little money. Charge more for your stuff, dude!
Hello Charles,
Thanks for your support and Guideline.Really you are the Awesome personalty. You are the Gem of Internet Online Business. Now I am in your guideline, already I stop looking
unnecessary mails. But I love to make Good Money by hook or by crook to show all the GURU’s and want to prove, but its only possible when you are giving me 100% support. I an ZERO in online business just a 5 year old Kid.
So Hope Both We Will Shine Like SUN.
Hi Charles,
you must have a great attitude in life… nice to meet you, and please use my email if you have anything to share…
I have been on the internet since 1995… learning from scratch and spending thousand of dollars (with the so called gurus) did not create any streams of income.. but it would be nice if I could… can you or any of your associates suggest any decent way? tx
best of everything… always!

Charles,
I am just starting to learn about this marketing business; finding people who provide a genuine training and support package took a long time.
And one question which kept coming to mind was: why do so many people who sell “wonderful” packages all set the same price ($77) and give the same $10 discount when I try to close the link…
I can understand why you quitting .I agree with you 100%.They are out there to beat the lil guy into the ground .
I hope that you get to feeling better .Just forget them Gurus .You can help other people and make money too at the same time .You have a Sunshine Day ….Miss Ashley
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by robin gates, LaTonya Malinconico. LaTonya Malinconico said: I quit! Tired of so called internet Gurus….dont copy them cuz they dont offer you anything but hype & a short sell http://bit.ly/ch9pt1 [...]
Dear Charles,
I always considered you as a smart guy but you proved to me today with this “I quit” email more smart that I thought about you. I liked the trick with the deleted email address
When you will address to me take in consideration to have a legit email so I can reply to you otherways whatever you send to me will go for delete. My time is equaly valuable as yours. Don’t waste it.
Thank you
P.S. Don’t give any reply to me here because I won’t waste my time visiting your site. you have my email address
Charles, I would like to quote you here for a second…
“Your email list is the most valuable part of your business, so start treating it that way. Remember, the people on your list are real people too, and not just some email or click.
They have the same hopes and dreams that you do. Treat them with respect.”
This should be at the core of a business model, plan and mission statement!
It is unconscionable to what extent they are willing to go to get you to simply open their email and follow their unsolicited advertisement.
I personally like to send them an email and ask a question just to see if they will respond. My experience with this has shown me that 99% will never return an email. They never even acknowledge it. I have found this to be true in both the internet marketing and spiritual niches.
I have also received very pleasant surprises and not only received a reply but a willingness to interact and participate in my vision, my dream of success. To those very few thought leaders, I say thank you!

I have been trying to find the right leader for 2 yrs. I have asked for refunds numerous times because because the gurus do not deliver what they promised. Push button profits other no effort methods do not exist. I have found methods so complicated that is would take me 40 hrs a week to figure out. My big question is how are you going to help me? I will never give up to find a way to make $ online! I willnot hesitate to move on if this is just another gimick. Roy
What you say is true. If I get one email I get dozens of the same thing.
I’m sure they really dont use the information, they are just trying to sell it.
It could nickel and dime a person to death, if you bought half the stuff.
Right On Charles! I get sooo sick of getting hundreds of repeat offers from the same group of so called “gurus”! My time is worth much more than going through the same old crap every day. I really try to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and go through my email as much as possible but it really gets old. Even when I unsubscribe many of these people, they seem to just start again with a different type of name or product. I do need to check my email and don’t want to put a bunch of filters on it but this is really getting ridiculous! Thanks for letting me rant! Dave
Honesty is back. A ret’d guy like me trying to start a internet business could go flat broke listening and buying all the hype.
Your integrity goes hand in hand with you being straight forward and to the point.
Hi,
What you said is absolutely true.
Everybody wants to sell something.
I don’t know if there is really a millionnaire only by doing internet marketing.
I started with an intention to spare some time and earn supplementary income. So far I have been receiving free stuff, following the Gurus’ suggestions, inventing the ways to increase traffic etc. but nothing I earned.
I may also quit and close all accounts. Your post is bold and beautiful, anyway let me try a few more days…
Ok.. so quit or get original!!! That’s how I feel about it.
Why follow the herd mentality. There is another way, you just have to find it.
If you are truly helping people then that is what counts the most. Everyone wants the silver bullet to making money online. I say give it to them and stop with all the fluff and BS.
Just do it!
And make your emails original! Don’t send the same old emails for a product that everyone else does. Boring!
And why did I get this same email yesterday and today?
Once was good enough.. this is exactly the problem.
Did you think that I didn’t get it or open it the first time?
Ok lol, I am not here to bash you. I share your sentiment!
There is a new breed of marketers on the horizon.
LOOK OUT!!
Hi Charles,
Your email prompted me to count the “gurus” currently residing in my inbox. (Just the ones I haven’t got round to deleting) There are 36 of them and out of these, there are only 4 of whom I trust and have genuinely helped me.
I was barred from a guru’s list yesterday and I was only having a joke with him. I was very happy about it because it was one less for me to opt-out from! I don’t think this is the place to say exactly what happened but I can say that it proved one of the points in your email, Charles, the importance of building a relationship with your list.
Anyway, this guy showed that all he was interested in was selling. Recently I’ve been trying to delete the ones who only sell, you all know them, the ones who send: “You HAVE to look at this!!”, then the link but I’m addicted and nearly always look. I would hate to count the hours I have wasted by “looking”.
Thanks for your email, Charles – I hope some of the gurus read it and take note!
Happy Sunday to All,
Linny.
It only gets worse if you buy the gurus product…support is often a joke, if addressed at all.
“If you got a problem or question just send a Ticket…”
Yeah, right! I am trying to just get a response from one guru. And if no one answers thier Tickets all other avenues of contact are just dead ends.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Hello Charles
I believe that ones a marketer becomse a guru he is no longer a marketer anymore. Everyday I get emails from those gurus offering me sysstems for doing online business on autopilot. Now I may be old fashioned (51) but In my opinion a business is runs by people and not computers. You can program your computer to automatically sell and buy products but that is not what business is about. There have to be real people involved interacting with each other and sharring valuable information. To many times I have spent money buying ebooks or software that promissed to teach me all the secrets to become successful online. The truth is, there are no secrets anymore. Most of the gurus are selling old outdated programs they don’t need anymore because they have something new. I have truly lost my fate in those people telling me that they only want to help while charging $97 for a product that doesn’t work anymore. I believe you are different Charles but still, making money on the internet is not as easy as it seems.
Thanks for the honest mail.
Hi Charles,
This was GREAT!
I have been on the internet since 1995 and ran one business with a partner.
We had a website I built with over 4000 Pages.
4 to 5000 visitors a month. Good sales but it got
to be too much for us. We sold a physical product
in the collectible toys line.
Sold out 2 years ago. Dropped the domain name.
So I am on my own exploring new ways of making a
small income from the internet. I can’t build a website
that looks good and I still don’t understand SEO.
I too am tired of all the same copy and pasted emails.
I also am tired of getting a link in an email that takes
you to someones site for a video or an article and then have to enter your email address to watch or read it only to
find out it is a pitch for a product and of no substance.
I have started to un-subscribe from these type of emails.
It seems that I get them every day and I have started the
process of hitting the un-subscribe button.
Not yours of course!
You do a great job and I am thankful for you to have the courage to stand up and be counted.
Thank You,
Michael
Yes Charles,
Your e-mail was refreshing for a change, there are some days I get up to 6 e-mails from the same person, gurus or not, I have unscribed to a lot of them, that’s just too much!
I guess they feel you have to hear about all of their programs all at once, but that gets a little sickening after awhile. All I seem to have done was purchase all the same old same old and am not making hardly any money online! So my answer is stop taking all the gurus e-mails and getr working with what I have until it works for me!
I hope you see it my way, because you seem to be somewhat different.
Hope this will be my way forward ,
I have been trying to follow up on so many people and never seem to get any forward,
Am hoping this will make a change to all this help me make some money somehow
I have spent alot of money paying adding to cart and today am disappointed Not to mention i have never made any coin inline at all
Well said, Charles…….I have been sitting here, day after day, for near 3 years. I keep ending up with over 700 e-mails if I miss one day. It’s a full time job just deleting!! I don`t have a list, a product, a responder, and all the other wonderful trinkets of the on line marketer. I have purchased e-books, reports, and other `garbage` and all I end up with is hard luck stories. If I thought MY life story was worth money, I`d be a millionaire right now., and I can tell you that mine puts all the rest to shame!!! BUT, I would NEVER flog it as “information“ to online marketing!! Your latest post was a breath of fresh air. Thank you for your time
Aloha Charles,
You hit it right on the head…I just started opting out of every Guru or marketer that emails me on every launch that goes on. Real Tired of it.
I am only staying on list with Marketers that give good content. There always in your pocket for a new product / Launch.
Really peeves me off. I just recently got on your list and purchased a product from you. Keep it clean and don’t change.
Hello Charles, Well done E-mail. You make think the http://www.may have hart and good meaning. I beleve most are blind by the dollar and forgot the rest.Don’t get me wrong the world run on money and that OK. But the gift of giving is not to forget the rest and they will not forget you. To me thats the way you sound,a good give and take. Well rounded and well grounded. Please keep up the good work I’m sure you do. Thank You asking for my reply. Have a good day and maybe I’ll see you down the road of life.
Well all I can say is GOOD GOING Charles – I have hated most of these emails — which clog up my site and have to go thru them so do not delete something important. I even have a second one just for personal and they found that too and it truly annoys me that all they really want is our $ and give you almost nothing unless you buy the next thing in their ad to buy. Is there a law against that lol? Been taken for too much and got nothing so now just closing them out – problem is tho I ask to be unsubscribed they still do it —ggggggrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
Thanks for the email tho I loved it.
I am so tired of email because of all the junk they are sending. I usually go thru and un-subscribe to just about everyone a few times a year.
The ones that get me now are the subject lines that leave you unsure enough that it may have been something you really wanted/ordered/subscribed to.
The newest thing seems to be, being held hostage with all the “Are you sure you want to leave, Click cancel in the next window” and they just go on, and on.
Those are an instant un-subscribe for the person who sent me that greatest of all time link, from his personal buddy.
I have no problem un-subscribing from someones list right after signing up if they start sending these spammy emails. I don’t care if you want to label me a “freebie seeker” because I know the truth
Great stuff!!! Keep it up. I’m also taking myself off all these email list.
Hi Charles,
Yes, totally agree, thanks for sharing an honest and true analysis.
Nick Naggar
I feel cheated on they make the money and we loses. they dont pay for clicks or advertiseent, yet we sure pay and the truth is allways twisted
You are so right. I have spent the most of my time viewing emails viewing duplicate emails most of the time. Not quite but it sure seems like it.
It is refreshing to receive some actual content.
I haven’t disappeared, just been battling an on slot of computer issues, great story for a book. Hmmmmm.
Charles,
Thank you for the honest assessment. I’m a newbie trying to learn the business as best I can. It really disheartens me to see so many offers for success but yet you have to pay to see even a taste of the programs. Once you join one you get what I call a bait and switch offer because the internet marketers dangle another carrot in front of you to buy more. Why don’t true marketers sell a program turn-key? The complete package from A-Z. It’s very frustrating!
So true, everibody is selling, bat we have to make money to by something.
Hi Charles.
It’s refreshing reading those thoughts of yours, it’s like you read my mind. Emails filling our inbox saying buy! buy! with zero content, no tips, no strategies, nothing.
They hype about one product and tomorrow they repeat the process for another product so you’re left thinking, gosh what is the better product? was it yesterday’s? today’s? or tomorrow’s?.
My plan next week is to opt-out from several of these guru’s lists.
One can say for sure that zero content equals zero credibility.
Thanks Charles!
How ironic is it that just minutes before opening your email, I responded to a “guru” who’s list I’ve been on for a while. His email claimed a “gift” for being one of his “valued subscribers” whom he wants to help be successful. WELL, turns out the “gift” was nothing more than a 5 way list swap allowing me the “privilege” of subscribing to 5 more channels of crap about how some dropout who grew up in a trailer park just cracked the code and made $97,817.24 in just 6 months. etc. etc.
The subject line of my email to him was “I CALL BULLS$#^” and I told him that those who claim to be here to help me succeed yet continuously nudge me into a pit of quicksand will NOT be tolerated and WILL be exposed by every large scale social means available to me.
I said I’d give him one more chance, but if he did anything like this just once more, that I’d be hitting the unsubscribe link faster than Firefox could finish loading the full URL in my browser. It will be interesting to see if he responds at all, and how.
You’re TOTALLY spot on, and your message is very comforting to hear, as I’m quite new on YOUR list.
On the bright side… it’s great to learn at this early stage, what NOT to do with a list.
Thanks VERY much to each and every person who’s taken the time here to express themselves and to strengthen and unite this community
My very best wishes to you all, and thanks again very much to you Charles for daring to step on toes.
Totally agree, I rarely promote anything that has a cost on it. My 2 long time ones are completely free to join and use.
I am not a millionaire, but the amount I make per month, buys me a wine at my favourite wine bar, and last month bought me a nice waterproof watch. So I am happy.
Keep up the true words, they will make you lots of friends
Peta K.
Australia
PS To be truthfull I have 2 paid sites I have just started with, one is already on the downward path, the ‘help’ promised is re-cycled ‘stuff’ that they have been sending for over 5 years, so somewhat out of date!!!!!
It’s sickening dude… if it’s not IM crap it’s more R.E. crap.
Overwhelming is an understatement. Some days you just don’t even want to open the damn laptop.
All the NEW TRAFFIC GENERATION SYSTEMS are the same recycled BS, with new packaging and new hype.
Thanks for your honesty!
If it was as easy as all the self-proclaimed gurus claim, we would all be rich and at the beach!
The reality, if you truly had the magic key, no guru would share it. The proof is when you buy and the guru is pitching somebody else’s miracle the following week. It is sickening!
These product launches are out of control. Not to mention these guys charging 1-2 thousand for nonsense.
You can see why the FTC had to step in. This stuff is getting out of hand!
Stay true and honest, people can see it and feel it!
Hi Charles – you are so on it. So much grap out there it isn’t funny. They take your money and you never hear from them. They promises support, but that ever happens. I keep getting links after links to sign up for but I have no idea where these links are going. Anyway, keep up the good and honest work. Who cares what they think. Just stay true to yourself.
Hi Ken;
Right on man. I Have been working so hard but I guess not
smart to make a a reasonable income from E commerce. I have purchased products and programs from every garu out there and worked diligently, following the so called blueprints to success. Failure after failure has been the result. You would think it couldn’t get any worse than that but it can. I figured I would give it one more shot so I purchased a program from one of the so called major garus out there. It was a social networking site which had some minor and major glitches but after so many complaints they decided to provide us all with a new platform. wow surprise, surprise it was great. In three months I had 7,341 members and signed up 278 advertisers. I was on my way right? Wrong. One fateful morning I logged into my site only it was no longer there. It turns out these garus had pirated the script for the new platform and my server was forced to take it down. I have sent 16 E mails and posted to their support center 9 times with no response. These same two guys promote a new product of their own or an affiliate product every couple of weeks. They hustle every thing. It is sickening. Don’t know if I have the desire anymore to continue. It would appear that IM has become nothing more than a money sucking, screw you environment.
Syd
Hi Charles;
Sorry you obviously aren’t Ken. Had just got off the phone with my buddy Ken and Voila’ Had him on the brain I guess.
Syd
Hi Charles
Your spot on
It,s getting impossible to tell any more
the GOOD from the BAD & UGLY
I just don’t bother to follow anymore some people who I trusted in the past, that now send out rubish. It may be that they are still giving out good content? but lost me.
see you at the top
Grant from London UK
The comment sent via email does strike a nerve. I get well over 100 emails from these “so called gurus” each day now. Most of the emails are nothing but repeats from another guru or an email that leads you to another gurus’ list.
Sure you may get some valuable information from time to time, but most of those emails generated from someone’s list are nothing more than a ploy to get you on someone else’s list.
Very few are genuine and full of content even if you join a membership. The PLR or MRR products talked about never seem to give a copywrite date revealing just how old and outdated they really are.
I even had one email that used a little reverse psychology on me by offering a product that would earn 30 cents a day instead of the usual mega bucks. It may have gotten my attention, but the outcome was the same.
There are times that someone reveals a new product launch, but again, I do wonder why everything cost around 47 bucks? Don’t forget that you are also told that the product is worth much more and usually around 477 bucks or more.
Is there something to the numbers 4 and 7 that they like so much? They are making things look so obvious that they are really scaring off the customers and affiliates.
Ok! I better quit here now before I vent too much. You can always blog me back at : drstevesblog.com
Good post Charles! You’re right… the so called gurus are running out of rabbits to pull out of their hats LOL
They can only fool people a few times then we all get smart
Thanks for the post giving us your reader the real deal behind the scenes, because gurus tend to give this illusion of something for nothing magic way of cashing in $50k in 2 weeks. It can be done but they’re never really going to share the whole part of the puzzle.
Take care Charles and looking forward to your next post.
Excellent Charles. I’m glad others feel this way.
I couldn’t agree more, Charles. Even though I write email copy for a living I’m only on a couple of IM lists because I can’t stand cluttering my inbox with so many lame emails.
Hi Anita
This just goes to show you never know who is reading this blog.
Anita is the secret weapon amoung top internet marketers
when it comes to writing story based emails that suck in money like crazy.
She also does my follow up emails after someone buys.
She is as good as they get.
If anybody needs to have some emails done contact her

She is worth every penney.
Thanks
Charles
We’ve been around online for a good number of years ‘dabbling’ online and have only recently started to take it a bit more seriously and agree with your email observations.
Obviously everyone knows that to earn money online money has to change hands somewhere but you’re right it should be for something that is worth the cost AND beneficial.
We have started to “build our list” and have a couple of free reports which set the scene for the new entrants to internet marketing but we intend to give a lot more than take as we move forward.
There are just SO MANY product launches it’s getting crazy and there are some big name guru’s we have simply got fed up with and have unsubscribed from.
It IS a difficult balance to strike though as we can’t all just continue to give, give, give and at some point there has to be a pitch for a product or service. If we get it right it will be at the right time for where are at in the ‘giving’
A whole new online ‘game’ is slowly emerging though and with it comes a lot of learning new skills and techniques plus the ability to distinguish the ‘old’ from the ‘new’ ways of working online
Hey Charles,
Great Great email came to your blog to comment. When I started out as a newbie I was starry eyed, and printing out reports to file for future use, and was gun hoe!!
What I did find was the amount of email cluttering my inbox, the crap that is offered, mostly newbie not much when you get past the time or you have to pay high costs for more advanced training.
then there are the adswaps, I hate them I will unsubscribe because a lot of times you have a newbie that is trying to build a list which I do understand, but man they are just delivering maybe old hashed stuff they picked up from a couple of years ago or some new crap. Don’t have time for it. I started creating my own products from my experience in different areas, instead of the affiliate routine of used up stuff.
Anyways great post and thankx

Charles, I agree. But my problem is that I have gotten myself so overwhelmed that I don’t know which way is up. And, due to a job situation, I really need to find a way to start supplemental income within the next 30 days. So I signed up for your Online Platinum Coaching. I have two items. One, I can’t acces the members area with the user and pass I signed up with. Two, do you do any one-on-one coaching that could possibly help me cut through the muk quicker and actually get some profit going in 30 days? Thanks! TP
Hey incredibly great blog!! Guy .. Attractive .. Incredible .. I will bookmark your blog and take the feeds
also…
The gurus are not marketing to you (we) who know a good deal about IM and are tired of the bull. They are counting on the folks who haven’t gotten sick of them yet. While the intermediate marketers are opting out in disgust, they’ve got a whole new crop of newbies opting in.
Impossible to subscribe to this blog’s newsletter, email and link are not valid.
Hi Charles after buying your Wso watching your videos and all going through all the bonus stuff, I don’t think their are too many out there delivering as much value as you do , I have been online for three years and have been bombarded with Marketers who have only their interests at heart and send out information that just does not work and what is worse they have never tried it out for themselves.
Charles Your stuff is by far the best out there .
In the last month i have discovered two great marketers You and Maria Gudelis You have both opened my eyes to new ideas. and you both walk the walk not talk the talk.
Cheers Mick
Wow, I’ve just put a post on my new blog saying almost exactly the same thing.
I joined Brian Zimmerman’s list a few weeks ago and got a great welcome email and NO sales pitches since – just good, interesting content. I’m sure there will be a recommendation eventually, but I am more likely to check it out than the ones from the guys who send ‘look at this NOW’ stuff – sometimes twice a day – those ones tend to be from well-known marketers.
Brian’s is the model that I intend to use.
Regards
Karen
Just awesome content with actionable pointers for creating a valuable and profitable business any marketer can be proud of. Charles you more than make up for all those scummy marketers/gurus we all have experienced in our IM adventure.
The marketing model you show makes a lot of sense – I will be following in your footsteps.
Thanks buddy!!
